IJN is the premier national heart institute of Malaysia offering comprehensive
heart care services in adult and paediatric cardiac medicine since its humble
venture in 1992. Its formation led to the beginning of an era of sophisticated
and computerised cardiovascular medicine in Malaysia. Over the years, IJN has
dedicated itself in providing high quality care in cardiology, paediatric
cardiology and adult & paediatric cardiothoracic services to its valued
patients. Till date, IJN has served more than 870000 patients, with over 26,000
successful surgeries and more than 53,000 interventional cardiology procedures
to its credit.

Our Medical Milestones | A world class cardiology hospital with many break through's. Some of these are:
- In 2006 Thoracoscopic surgery for lone atrial fibrillation;
- First stem cell transplantation in the region;
- Implanted 1st in Asia and Australasia, a mechanical heart device called IVAD;
- First Awake Coronary Artery Bypass and Awake Thymectomy without general anaesthesia performed;
- Implantation of first Thoratec Implantable Left Ventricular Assist Device |
